Moral judgement as an explanation for the lack of empathy between political opponents

This project confirms that US and UK political partisans feel less empathy for people in distress when the target person is from a political outgroup, rather than from a political ingroup or neutral target. This is partially mediated by ratings of the target's immorality. These effects were found to be stronger for liberal participants than conservative participants.
