Consulting

As academics and researchers in both theoretical and applied research, SIGN provides high-level consultative services to many organisations and industries.

Using SIGN's strong expertise in social identity research - including well-being, loneliness, organisational function, change management, learning, leadership, retirement and life transitions - the team is able to help people tackle a range of workplace, personal and community-level issues that may require improvement, revision, or re-development.

SIGN has provided consultation to high-profile organisations, such as the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

A number of SIGN members provide consulting services as part of the Leading for High Reliability Centre (LHRC). Hosted at UQ's Sustainable Minerals Institute, the Centre brings together researchers from across the University interested in using High Reliability Organisational (HRO) thinking to improve outcomes across such fields as safety and health, sustainability, and environmental performance. Psychometric tool development and validation

SIGN's team is able to work across various industries to develop besoke interventions for a range of issues found in organisations, due to the team's strong expertise in applied theory.

Whether worker well-being or leadership is an issue for an organisation, whether communities want to provide more social support to their neighbours, or whether educators want to look at the well-being and learning outcomes of their students, SIGN has the capability to design and develop interventions that will achieve key outcomes and goals for any issues requiring a social identity approach to resolution.
