Dr Sarah Bentley to present the School of Psychology seminar

29 Mar 2022

Over the last seven years the SIGN team have been developing an online tool for investigating social connectedness. In a deliberate move away from traditional, survey-based data collection, this tool — known as oSIM — uses a visual modality to explore social connections in health, educational, organisational, sports, and community settings. But it can also be used to investigate other psychological processes. In particular, oSIM can map out, measure, and manipulate a range of concepts, from social through to developmental, from emotional to cognitive. This talk will give everyone an opportunity to see what oSIM is about, but more importantly, to see how it might be integrated into a broad range of research activities with a view to providing fresh insight into psychological processes and outcomes.
